Un panorama general de las células troncales

En ciencia, cuando nos referimos a una célula troncal hablamos de una célula que tiene la
capacidad de autorreplicarse y al mismo tiempo dar origen, por lo menos, a una célula hija
especializada y diferente de la célula inicial, estas células pueden clasificarse según su potencial
de dar origen a diferentes linajes celulares en: totipotenciales, pluripotenciales, multipotenciales
y unipotenciales. En esta revisión se describen brevemente las características de estas células,
así como su uso actual en la medicina.
