Abstract

«Pain drawing» is a clinical tool for evaluation of back pain in people by means of a graphic
representation of painful areas. Some of the benefits of this non-invasive instrument are its
low cost, self-administration, patient comfort, and its being non time-consuming. It is most
useful as an objective graphic expression and outline of painful areas in each person, and
for comparison throughout the whole treatment. The tool has not been useful, however,
to evaluate psychological-related disorders.
