A scoping review was carried out on community-based rehabilitation strategies in people with
disabilities between the years 2011-2021, the eligibility, inclusion and exclusion criteria were
established; PubMed, Scielo and Redalyc databases were reviewed in accordance with the DeCs and
MeSh: people with disabilities, community participation, rehabilitation, health services for people with
disabilities, social participation. 13 articles of the systematic review type, mixed and descriptive studies
were analyzed; Regarding functional deficiency, it was evident that the research took into account
people with disabilities with a predominance of physical deficiency, followed by intellectual deficiency.
Regarding the level of self-perception and the level of social participation for this population, it was
low for social activities or for attending and/or being part of health and rehabilitation services, reflected
in aspects associated with not believing themselves capable of performing tasks, participating in the
community. or living with other people, hiding disabled children from parents, they talked about the
condition, and in social participation difficulties with movement and barriers to function, among other
aspects. It is concluded according to the information analyzed that the level of self-perception of the
disabled population in what was reported was represented in the low assessment, as well as social
participation for social activities or to attend or be part of the health and rehabilitation services, this
because of multiple social and personal factors.
