Investigación en Discapacidad, a leading scientific journal dedicated to advancing research in the field of disability studies, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Editorial Manager to join our team. As the premier platform for scholarly discourse on disability-related topics, our journal is committed to excellence in research dissemination and fostering interdisciplinary dialogue. Role Overview: The Editorial Manager will play a crucial role in managing the editorial operations of Investigación en Discapacidad. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and impact of the journal by overseeing manuscript submissions, and implementing editorial policies. The Editorial Manager will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and editorial board members to uphold the journal's standards of quality and integrity. The position is offered for two years and may be renewed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the manuscript submission process, ensuring timely and fair evaluation of submissions.
  • Develop and implement editorial policies and guidelines to maintain consistency and quality in published content.
  • Foster collaboration and communication among editorial board members, reviewers, and authors.
  • Oversee the journal's promotion and outreach efforts, including social media engagement and conference participation.
  • Monitor journal performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and publishing best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a relevant field such as disability studies, rehabilitation science, public health, or a related discipline.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and interdisciplinary environment.
  • Familiarity with academic publishing processes and scholarly communication tools.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in research and publishing.
